Simple! As with any honest breeder of show dogs, Lil' Amigo Chihuahuas is looking for 'the perfect' Chihuahua (as far as show-ring confirmation goes). When we find it, it will be priceless. Until then we will keep looking. In the meantime we end up with pups that range from anywhere between show quality to pet quality. We can plan and anticipate and breed as much as we want, but we really do not know what we will get until we see what we got. And even then we can only guess as to what the final outcome will be. Show QUALITY means that the pup is expected to conform to the breed standard to quality for its championship in the show ring. That does not mean perfect-- just closer to breed standard than the others presented at that particular time. That pup may be kept for breeding purposes. Pet QUALITY does not mean that there is anything wrong with the pup. It just mean that the breeder acknowledges that in the show ring, that particular dog would not successfully compete with its peers. That could simply mean that the weight is a bit over 6 pounds, or perhaps the ear is not quite formed properly. Of Course this is all assuming that you are dealing with a reputable breeder. At Lil' Amigo Chihuahuas our puppies are all registered with the CKC and tattooed. Prices vary up to $1200 for top show quality. Deposits ($100 – non-refundable) are accepted to hold the puppy until it is ready to go to your home. We sell all our dogs on a non-breeding contract. If you would like your purchased Chihuahua shown for its Championship prior to neutering, we can negotiate a price. Thereafter the dog will be neutered. Lil’ Amigo is a member in good standing of the Canadian Kennel Club and we abide by its Code of Ethics. We will be honest with you, the buyer and future owner of our little ones, and you can depend on our high standards and commitment to the Chihuahua breed. |
